CARIBBEAN OFFICE CAMPUS

The Caribbean Office Campus is a collaborative design-build project started in 2017 and currently under construction. Designed by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) and design-built by Devcon Construction, the project consists of two commercial office buildings totaling over 1 million square feet on a 40-plus acre site and includes a four level parking structure and flood protection enhancement of a drainage channel and bridge crossings. This is an iconic, once in a lifetime type of project, and I am blessed to be the Architect of Record and Design Manager over the entire project. The project is a result of years in the making with a design-build collaboration alongside a team of more than 30 different design and engineering consultants. At the peak of the design process, we had nearly 150 staff members actively working on the project. The project is slated to earn LEED Platinum certification with its extensive use of sustainable building technologies.

Once complete, the project will house over 5,000 employees and will be an anchor to Sunnyvale’s newest district rehabilitation. The project is designed around employees user experience and connection to the outdoors with access to the sloping green roof from every level of the building, indoor/outdoor connection and encouragement of circulation. The buildings offer employees a choice of several different working environments depending on their personalities and how they work best. The buildings also feature several amenities including cafes, coffee shops, fitness facilities, lounges, and game rooms just to name a few.
