260 CALIFORNIA AVENUE

260 California Avenue in Palo Alto, California is a beautiful infill development on one of the Bay Area’s best small business districts, with a small town feel, yet right off the main rail line connecting San Francisco with Silicon Valley. This project was done for a private developer, designed by Hughes and Associates and delivered design-build by Devcon Construction. It is a three level commercial office over a basement parking garage with retail at the street level. The design vision was taken from the language of nearby Stanford University, the building is clad in limestone veneer.

The building fit neatly into its surrounding context and immediately became part of the pedestrian fabric of all of California Avenue, providing activation on the ground floor and housing offices for a start-up tech company on the upper floors. The project has been a huge success for both the developer, the tenants, and the community.
